Bringing the Festivities Home: Key Media’s Chinese New Year Open House

Some of the best brand moments happen when a company opens its doors and simply celebrates with the community around it. In 2019, Key Media was appointed as the event organiser for a Chinese New Year Open House held at our property clientele’s sales gallery, planning and running the celebration from the ground up, turning a space usually reserved for property viewings into a full-blown festive experience for visitors and prospective homebuyers alike.

What We Organised

As event organiser, we planned and executed every element needed to bring this CNY open house to life, coordinating vendors, performers, and on-site logistics from concept through to the day itself:

1. Lion Dance Performance & Setup No CNY celebration is complete without the lion dance, and we coordinated the full performance including the tall pole rig setup used for the more acrobatic routines, bringing energy, colour, and tradition right to the doorstep of the venue.

2. Emcee & Programme Hosting A dedicated emcee, dressed in traditional red attire, kept the event flowing welcoming guests, guiding the programme, and keeping the festive energy up throughout the day.

3. Festive Food & Beverage Stations We set up multiple red-canopy food and drink stalls across the sales gallery, styled in traditional CNY colours, giving visitors a proper “have a seat” open house experience with catering laid out buffet-style for easy mingling turning what could have been a routine gallery visit into a warm, hospitable occasion.

4. Interactive Cultural Activities A Chinese calligraphy corner let guests try their hand at brushing festive characters like “福” (fortune) and “春” (spring) onto red paper a hands-on, shareable activity that added a personal, keepsake element to the celebration.

5. Full Festive Décor & Styling From hanging red lanterns and gold blossom trees to auspicious paper cuttings and calligraphy scrolls on the walls, every corner of the venue was styled to feel authentically festive.

Why Event Management Like This Matters

1. It turns a sales gallery visit into a genuine community moment A well-run CNY open house transforms a typically transactional sales gallery visit into a warm, memorable experience building real goodwill with prospective homebuyers and the surrounding community through shared cultural celebration, while keeping the property front-of-mind long after the visit ends.

2. Multiple touchpoints keep visitors engaged longer Between the lion dance, food stations, and the calligraphy activity corner, visitors had several reasons to stay, participate, and enjoy the event rather than pass through quickly — extending dwell time in the sales gallery and giving the sales team more opportunity to engage with prospective buyers.

3. Interactive elements create organic, shareable content Activities like the calligraphy corner naturally lead to guests taking photos and sharing their experience extending the event’s reach well beyond those physically present.

4. Full event organisation behind the scenes As the appointed event organiser, Key Media planned and coordinated every moving part the lion dance troupe, F&B vendors, emcee, décor installation, and activity corner — into a single, tightly run event on behalf of our property clientele.

The Key Media Difference

As the appointed event organiser, Key Media planned and delivered this CNY Open House at the sales gallery from concept to execution proving that our capabilities go well beyond signage and print into full-scale event organisation that supports property sales and marketing efforts.
