From Blank Canvas to Batik Beauty: Key Media’s Full-Service Vehicle Wrap Transformation

At Key Media, we don’t just print and stick — we manage the entire journey of a vehicle wrap campaign, from the first measurement to the final dismantling. Our latest project, a striking batik-inspired floral wrap on a compact electric hatchback, is a perfect showcase of that end-to-end capability.

The Brief

The client wanted their EV to stand out on the road with a bold, artistic identity: a traditional batik floral motif rendered in warm oranges, golds, and deep browns, set against a soft patterned white base. The design needed to wrap seamlessly around the vehicle’s curves, doors, and rear panels while keeping the black roofline and glass untouched for a clean, premium contrast.

Our Process

1. Measuring & Assessment Every wrap starts on the shop floor, not the design desk. Our team physically measured the vehicle’s panels, curves, and problem areas, door handles, wheel arches, the charging port flap — to make sure the final print would align perfectly panel by panel.

2. Creative Adaptation With accurate measurements in hand, our design team adapted the batik artwork to fit the vehicle’s specific geometry. This isn’t a simple resize florals had to be stretched, mirrored, and repositioned so the pattern flows naturally across compound curves without looking distorted or disjointed at the panel gaps.

3. Printing Once the design was finalised, we moved to production, printing the adapted artwork at high resolution to preserve the fine detail in every petal and leaf outline critical for a design this intricate.

4. Installation Our installers got to work applying the wrap panel by panel, carefully working the material around the wheel arches, door handles, and mirrors to achieve a factory-finish look. You can see the transformation mid-install in our photos, the crisp white base and black roof providing the perfect backdrop for the florals to pop.

5. Dismantling Full-service also means being ready for what comes after. Whether it’s a previous livery being removed to make way for new artwork, or eventual removal at the end of a campaign, our team handles safe, clean dismantling that protects the vehicle’s original paintwork.

Before & After

Before Wrapping

After Wrapping

The result speaks for itself, a once plain, factory-white EV now carries a striking, one-of-a-kind batik identity that turns heads wherever it goes. The contrast between the clean white-and-black original and the vibrant floral wrap highlights just how much a well-executed vehicle wrap can transform a brand’s presence on the road.

Why Full-Service Matters

Projects like this highlight why Key Media handles every stage in-house. When measurement, design, print, and installation are managed by one team, there’s no room for miscommunication between stages, the final result matches the vision, panel for panel.
